Venice – The Family Tree
Betekenis achter het lied
Venice is een Amerikaanse band uit Venice, Californië. De groep bestaat uit de broers Kipp en Mark Lennon en hun neven Michael en Pat Lennon, en is bekend om de meerstemmige zang.
‘The Family Tree’ gaat over een familie die elkaar vasthoudt bij een afscheid. Een familie is als een boom: de takken bewegen in de wind, en soms valt er een blad. Wereldwijd lieten mensen de band weten dat het lied hen hielp bij hun rouw. Later verscheen er zelfs een geïllustreerd kinderboek over. Het lied past bij een afscheid waarin de familie centraal staat.
